Greenville Lions Club Special Projects
Local Eyeglass Program We furnish eyegalsses for deserving local school students. In addition, we collect discarded eyeglasses for redistribution to underdeveloped countries. Lions Eye Bank We support a local eye bank (Dallas). This bank supplies eye corneas and other material necessary for cornea transplants. The services of the Lions Eye Bank are available to local area residents who qualify. Lions Tissue Bank Much like the Eye Bank, the Lions Club Tissue Bank provides transplantable skin tissue for burn victims and others in need. Texas Lions Camp for Crippled Children We sponsor qualified local children to attend a two-week opportunity-filled summer camp in Kerrville, Texas. The Rogers Scholarship Fund In 1992 the Greenville Lions Club established a scholarship fund in honor of Lion Murrie Rogers. Murrie passed away in 1991 after serving as a past president and as a secretary for 38 years. The fund will provide scholarships to GISD students who qualify and plan to enter college.
